Natasha Poly for French Vogue April 2010

We're obviously doing a cover-run at the moment and next up is Natasha Poly (our siren) for French Vogue April 2010 by photographers Inez and Vinoodh. It's her SIXTH cover for French Vogue and they never get old... She looks flawless on all of the covers, but this one definitely isn't our favorite of her. Our hands down favorite is Natasha's March 2007 cover by Inez and Vinoodh. The first time we saw this cover, our hearts raced. How can someone be so versatile and have so much longevity!? Amazing.

The cover might be a little 'colorful' for our tastes, but model, Lily Donaldson is giving face! We've seen her grow so much these past couple years. She has an appeal to the Asian market we think. Its those eyes! The colors on the cover also resonate spring time. Thank you Inez and Vinoodh.

Prada-Type

Prada teamed up with font god M/M Paris to create an unique shirt, thought we would show you the results. Pretty interesting stuff, we love when fashion houses do these commissioned pieces with other design firms.

The future of W?

Stefano Tonchi from T has confirmed the rumors that hes taking over W. After a few statements his aims are clear for the magazine and he sure as hell has a lot of work ahead of him. He wants to create a much more accessible magazine, there are too many magazines that feature high end fashion that the average person only sees in magazines. Creating a more lifestyle and "general interest" approach, not so  fashion-centric. Of course many people in fashion are upset, looking back to the many great editorials that this magazine has produced its sad to know they will be no more. Though taking a step back we cant help to think that in the end this may be the best direction to go in. In a age where everyone turns to the internet for information, sales of magazines are a record low, and the majority of people are putting down the Louboutins in order to pay the rent, a magazine that becomes more accessible to the average person could be exactly whats needed. Only time will tell how successful he will be in changing the publication but we here at Noir Blanc are excited to see what will happen.

Thoughts?

McQueen in my pants

For the past few days reports have been coming out that one of Alexander Mcqueens last gift to us will be a mens underwear collection. Were excited... like really excited. Whats better than having skulls plastered all over your briefs. Although there are no reports on studded couture briefs us boys can still dream. According to fashion mecca WWD "Signature design details include skulls on the waistband of boxers and briefs and allover prints of feathers, X-rays and a collage of bones also used extensively in his last men's runway collection staged in Milan in January." The basic briefs were set at an amazing price point for the likes of McQueen at around $50, though pajama sets are said to go up to $550 which sounds a lot more like McQueen. Apparently a portion of profits in the beginning of the underwear launch will benefit different AIDS charities which is a good little twist to this all.

Long live McQueen.

Baptiste giabiconi for L'officiel Hommes China shot by Xiang Sun
When we saw this editorial we died. It never hurts to see Karls boy Baptiste Giabiconi and whats even better is hes styled up as a couple of the music industries biggest icons. In the end it was a little campy and with the added effect of smoke in many of the pictures it got to be a little too much. We couldnt pass up the chance to show you all these pictures though. Enjoy.

Good Morning :)

Hello Natasha For H&M! WERRKKK

Natasha Poly looks absolutely gorgeous in this video for her H&M campaign. We've never seen someone as versitile as her. Her personable personality makes it easy for anyone to work with her (as you'll see in the video). Compared to her stronger, more rigid campaigns (i.e, Jil Sander, Missoni, Givenchy etc), this one is much more simple, bright and colorful.. Perfect for the coming Spring and Summer! The collection is great too... :) Take a look at some of the photos. We love you Natasha!

Shoot Em Up Prada

Ted Noten is an amazing design team that was focused on the jewelry business but has now begun to dabble in other projects such as installations, design projects, and private commissions. The variety of work that can be found in their portfolio is absolutely stunning. Their work has also received a lot of attention in editorials both in fashion and jewelry magazines.

Thats "It"

The duchess satin shoe from Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2010 line is everywhere. Open up the majority of fashion magazines out there and inside youll see these puppies. They're adorable, cute, yet edgy. A hard feat that Miu Miu seems to master more and more each year. Keep your eyes peeled for these puppies to begin strutting around the city.
